The phonestar* SIP Trunk is compatible with the AI phone assistant from Fonio.ai. To use Fonio.ai, you need two phonestar* SIP Trunks: one SIP Trunk for incoming calls and one for outgoing calls, each with a phone number. The PhoneBasic telephony product has no basic fee, and additionally, a Swiss phone number and the two SIP Trunks are free of charge.

1. Requirement for using the AI phone assistant from Fonio.ai
The requirement to use Fonio.ai is a phonestar* account with the telephony product PhoneBasic or PhonePro. The PhoneBasic telephony product has no basic fee, and additionally, a phone number and the two SIP Trunks are free of charge.

2. Fonio.ai setup with phonestar* SIP Trunk for incoming calls
2.1 Log in to Fonio.ai. Click on Phone Numbers (1) in the left menu and then on Add Number (2) → Create SIP Number (3). Keep the new window open and create the two phonestar* SIP Trunks as described in points 2 and 3. Point 4 explains where to enter the phonestar* SIP Trunk data in Fonio.ai and where to enter the Fonio.ai data in the phonestar* SIP Trunk.
2.2 Log in to your phonestar* account. Click on SIP Trunk (1) in the left menu, then click the NEW TRUNK (2) button to create a SIP Trunk.
2.3 Select the Main Trunk Number (1) you want to use with Fonio ai. Under Assignment (2), you will see the available numbers. Click on a phone number to move it to the right side, selecting it for use with the SIP Trunk. At least one phone number must be selected. Create the SIP Trunk by clicking the ORDER (3) button.

2.4 Enter the Main Trunk Number in Fonio.ai (point 2.1) under Number / Name in international format, e.g., +4181589xxxx.
2.5 By clicking on none under Description (1), you can name the SIP Trunk Fonio.ai incoming calls. Then click on the user icon (2) to configure the SIP Trunk.
2.6 In the new window, switch to IP Auth. Confirm the change with the CHANGE button. Then, under Incoming Destination Address, click the ADD IP button and in the new window enter the Address (1) from the Fonio.ai portal under Organization (1), for example vojhwtf1hn6.eu.sip.livekit.cloud (IMPORTANT: without SIP:) and under Transport (2) switch to TCP and confirm with the ADD (3) button.
2.7 Under Incoming Destination Domain (1), enter the domain from the Fonio.ai portal under Organization (1), e.g., vojhwtf1hn6.eu.sip.livekit.cloud (IMPORTANT: without SIP:). Also, outgoing calls must be set to Off and incoming SRTP must be disabled.
2.8 The setup of the phonestar* SIP Trunk is now complete. Return to the Fonio.ai customer portal and finish the Create SIP Number process by clicking the Create SIP Number button at the bottom right. The SIP Number will now be displayed in the Fonio.ai customer portal.
2.9 In the Fonio.ai customer portal, navigate to Assistants (1) in the menu and then click the Create Assistant (2) button. In the new window Create Assistant, you can assign a custom name, e.g., Customer Service.
2.10 Click the + Assign Number button at the top right of the created assistant. In the new window, select the SIP Number created in point 2.5 under Available Incoming Numbers (1) and Available Outgoing Number (2), e.g., +4181589xxxx. Complete the setup by clicking the Assign Number (3) button and close the window.
2.11 The assistant named Customer Service will now be displayed under Phone Numbers in the Fonio.ai customer portal menu (point 2.6).
2.12 The setup of the phonestar* SIP Trunk for incoming calls at Fonio.ai is complete. You can now configure the assistant according to your preferences in Fonio.ai.

3. Fonio.ai setup with phonestar* SIP Trunk for outgoing calls
3.1 Create the second SIP Trunk for outgoing calls in your phonestar* account as described in point 2.2 via the left menu → SIP Trunk → click the NEW TRUNK button. The Main Trunk Number must be the same as in point 2.3, and no phone number must be selected. Add the description Description (1) Fonio.ai outgoing calls to the second SIP Trunk and then click the user icon (2) to configure the SIP Trunk.
3.2 The configuration data (1) of the phonestar* SIP Trunk, i.e., VoIP username, VoIP password, and VoIP server, can then be entered in the Fonio.ai customer account via the menu → Phone Numbers in the created assistant via the symbol ... → Edit SIP Number under Optional: Outgoing Calls → Termination URL (1), as shown in the image below, and saved with the Save Changes (2) button.
3.3 Outgoing telephony at Fonio.ai is now complete.
